About Me

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm the "Tom" half of "Tom/Tabitha" Figured this is as good a place as any to give you a little background about myself, which will (hopefully) explain a little bit about why I am the way I am. I've been married for almost 18 years, during which time we've managed to have 10 children (9 of whom are still with us-I may write about that experience sometime), live in six different states while moving eight times, and still retain a small sliver of sanity (I think).

I'm a nearly life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (I was 4 when my parents converted from Catholicism), but I missed out on being a Sunbeam (that's the name of the 3 year old children's sunday school class for those who are unfamiliar with LDS jargon), which could explain a lot.

I'm way too sarcastic at times, have a very dry sense of humor, and get far too little sleep. I love my wife, my children, my Savior, and my church. I like working with the young men at church (the 12-18 year olds), and love working with the Cub Scouts.

In general, I'm just a normal guy living a normal life who is trying to use this blog as a way to take my normal life experiences and share those with others in a way that 1) can be beneficial and 2) be fun.

And finally, some rules:

  1.  I appreciate comments, will respond to as many as possible, and reserve the right to delete anything I don't like
  2.  It's like I tell my children-my house is not a democracy, and it's only a benevolent dicatorship if they're lucky :)  Same applies to my blog.
  3. My opinions are just that-my opinions. It is never my intent to be offensive or demeaning in any way, so if something comes across that way let me know and I will fix it (within reason-if you're offended because I like sweet pickle relish and you prefer dill, well that's just too bad-get over it).
Tom
